SO Flange And WN Flange Difference 

The main difference between flanges and is their design and function. A flange is a flat disc-shaped component with bolt holes evenly spaced around its circumference. It is used to connect two pipes, valves or other equipment together for easy assembly and disassembly. There are many types of flanges, such as slip-on flanges, butt-welding flanges, blind flanges, threaded flanges, and They are often used in applications that do not require extensive alignment or support. On the other hand, weld neck flanges (WN) are a specially designed flange type with a tapered neck and raised face. The neck of the flange provides additional reinforcement, while the raised face helps create a sealing surface when connecting to another flange.  WN flanges are commonly used in high pressure and high temperature applications where joint strength and reliability are critical, such as in the oil and gas, petrochemical and power generation industries.
